Picking the right defense in any given week can be a real difference maker. But with one or two exceptions, there just aren’t many of those defenses you can just set and forget in your lineup for a season. Even the best defense in fantasy football, the Colts, is on the sit list this week with a game against the Packers.
Here are two to snag and stream this week, and two more to avoid.
D/ST Starts
Miami Dolphins vs. Denver Broncos
We’re not giving Miami’s defense the respect it’s due this season. They clipped Justin Herbert’s wings last week, and have picked off opposing quarterbacks eight times this season. They should feast on a struggling Drew Lock this week, who tossed four picks against the Raiders in Week 10.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams
The Bucs have been a top-five defense this season for fantasy, thanks in part to the 12 interceptions they have. This week a defense that lives on turnovers gets to face the Rams and a struggling Jared Goff. He had four turnovers two games ago against the Dolphins, and despite throwing for more than 300 yards last week, he failed to record a touchdown pass.
D/ST Sits
Indianapolis Colts vs. Green Bay Packers
The Colts have been the best defense in fantasy football, but they have a tough task this week against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Opposing defenses are averaging less than six fantasy points a game against Green Bay, and only two teams have had double digit points. The Colts defense is quite capable of keeping this one close, but the fantasy points are going to be hard to come by.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
You might be tempted to pick up the Raiders as a streaming option this week based on what they did to Drew Lock and the Broncos last week. Vegas picked off Denver’s QB four times in that one, putting together a nice double digit fantasy scoring effort. That’s not going to happen this week. Even when they beat the Chiefs earlier this season, the Raiders DST couldn’t crack five points. And now the Chiefs will be out for revenge.
