We have moved well past the days of T.Y. Hilton being a reliable fantasy football starter. However, there is one clear favorite among the Indianapolis Colts wide receivers, one guy who is worth a spot in most lineups, Michael Pittman. Even for a team that doesn’t prioritize the pass, he’s head and shoulders above his teammates when it comes to fantasy production.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts WRs T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman Jr., Zach Pascal
Quarterback Philip Rivers threw for just over 300 yards last week, only his third 300-yard effort of the season. While Hilton came up with four catches on five targets, he came away with just 40 yards. That was actually his best game in three weeks. He still hasn’t found the end zone this year either. Pascal had 33 yards on four catches, which comes in just under the 50-yard ceiling he seems to have established for himself. Neither player is worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues.
Pittman, on the other hand, has made a case to be a WR3 in fantasy over the last two weeks. Last week, he had 101 yards, catching seven passes on eight targets, all season highs. The week before that he had four catches on seven targets for 56 yards. Against the Packers, I wouldn’t expect eye popping numbers, but when the Colts throw the ball, he’s going to make out better than the rest of the team’s receivers.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Michael Pittman Jr. as a WR3. Sit T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal.
