Jonnu Smith has been held to fewer than 40 receiving yards in five consecutive games. Can he break out of this little funk against the Baltimore Ravens?
Fantasy Football analysis: Titans TE Jonnu Smith
There seems to be a clear line of demarcation in Smith’s season. In the Titans’ first four games, he averaged 4.5 receptions on 6.8 targets, 55.3 yards and scored five times. Then he suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 and hasn’t been the same kind of producer. In four full games since suffering that ailment, here is his average line: 1.8 catches on 3.5 targets, 21 yards and 0.5 touchdowns. He’s still playing north of 70% of the snaps, but everything else has tailed off. Worse yet, Anthony Firkser is around to annoy Jonnu’s fantasy owners, and the two men have seen the same number of targets since Week 7. For what it’s worth, this matchup against the Ravens is only so-so. They rank 19th in fantasy points allowed to TEs per game.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Considering the position, you probably don’t have strikingly better options than Smith. At this point, anyone with a pulse can be a low-end TE1. That’s exactly what Smith is and continues to be. He is not worth his $4,700 price tag on DraftKings right now.
