Game day update: Smith is expected to play today, according to Tom Pelissero.
Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith is listed as questionable on this week’s official injury report. Smith has been dealing with a groin injury that forced him to miss last week’s game, but there is some hope he may be able to suit up for his team’s Week 11 tilt with the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy impact: Irv Smith (groin injury)
Smith was able to practice this week, getting in a limited session every day. That points to him being able to suit up this week, as he missed practice entirely last week before ultimately being inactive.
If he does play, that would obvious cut into Kyle Rudolph’s playing time, making him irrelevant for fantasy football purposes. Smith is just two weeks removed from a two-touchdown game against the Lions. The Cowboys have allowed opposing tight ends to score twice in their last three games, which makes Smith a decent play as a TE2 in most formats.
