Game status: Stafford is ACTIVE for Week 11.
Game day update: Stafford is expected to play today, per Ian Rapoport.
After missing Wednesday’s session, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was back on the practice field Thursday and Friday this week. He is dealing with a torn ligament in his thumb on this throwing hand, an injury he sustained in last week’s game against Washington.
Fantasy impact: Matthew Stafford (thumb injury)
Stafford threw three touchdowns last week against Washington. That was his third game of the season with triple touchdown passes and his second in his last three games. He was injured on a first quarter hit in that game. The fact that he finished that game with a solid stat line should assuage any concerns about his ability to throw the ball this week.
The Panthers defense has given up seven touchdown passes in their last two games. Stafford’s biggest limitation in this one will be the absence of his No. 1 wide receiver, Kenny Golladay, and Danny Amendola. But there’s enough there for Stafford to have a decent game against Carolina.
