The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their bye week and are set to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on the road during Sunday Night Football. Kansas City enters this one with an 8-1 record for first place in the AFC West, leading the second place Raiders, which are at 6-3 and riding a three-game winning streak.
Kansas City has a chance to distance itself in the divisional race and take a three-game lead with six games to go. Las Vegas won the previous matchup 40-32 on Oct. 11, so the Chiefs should be plenty motivated to get a win in this one and keep pace with the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC.
So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.
Point spread
DraftKings has Kansas City listed as eight-point favorites as we get closer to kickoff, and bettors are heavily going after the Chiefs on Sunday night. Of all the bets on the point spread of this matchup, 70% of the bets are going to Kansas City with 84% of the handle.
Is the public right? Yes. Andy Reid off of a bye week is a dangerous man. His teams are 18-3 straight up after a bye week in the regular season in his career as a head coach. With plenty of motivation in this one, the Chiefs are a good play, and the public is on the correct side.
Over/under
The point total is set at 57 for this game with a lot of the action going toward the over. Eighty-four percent of the over/under bets in this matchup are going to the over with 92% of the handle.
Is the public right? Yes. Both teams will move the ball fairly well, especially the Chiefs, which are averaging the second most total yards per game in the NFL this season, and the Raiders reached the 30-point mark five times this year. Take that over and watch the points pile up.
Moneyline
Kansas City’s moneyline odds are set at -345 with Las Vegas at +290 to win this one outright. Not surprisingly, bettors at DraftKings are heavily going after the Chiefs to get the win in this game with 89% of the bets going to Kansas City with 90% of the money.
Is the public right? Yes. It would be pretty surprising to see Kansas City get swept by the Raiders in their two regular season matchups. Especially with the Chiefs coming off of a bye week, they should be able to come away with a victory on Sunday night.
