Cincinnati Bengals quarterback appears to be out for the year after suffering a left leg injury against the Washington Football Team. The Rookie signal-caller is one of a few significant fantasy players who will miss time in the coming weeks. Let’s go over what injuries you should keep track of as you consider who’s worth picking up on the Week 12 waiver wire.
QB Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Burrow suffered a season-ending leg injury against the Washington Football Team and had to be carted off the field. Bengals wideouts could see a significant drop in production now that Ryan Finley is likely to start in the coming weeks.
Rivers was hobbled by a foot injury against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. He fought through his pain on Sunday but could be in danger of missing Week 12 if the injury gets worth. Rivers is far from a top-notch fantasy quarterback but replacing him with Jacoby Brissett could have major implications for the Colts’ offensive production.
TE Jonnu Smith, Tennessee Titans
RB Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots
Burkhead suffered a knee injury against the Texans. The Patriots still have plenty of options in their backfield. Damien Harris should continue being the lead back and James White could see a significant boost in targets.
It was a rough day for Jones, who dealt with hamstring tightness for much of the game. He was in and out of the lineup before being sidelined for some big drives late before the Saints blew the game open. It’s not clear if he’ll miss any time, but given the state of the Falcons season, it would not be surprising to see him sit.
WRs Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills, Houston Texans
Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks are Houston’s top pass catchers and both could see their targets increase if Cobb and Stills are sidelined by their lower body injuries in Week 11. Houston hasn’t gotten much from the run game since David Johnson suffered a concussion and could thrive through the air against the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
