Wednesday PM update: The Texans announced that Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills have both been ruled out for Week 12.
Wednesday AM update: The Texans have not conducted full in-person practices Monday or Tuesday, instead having virtual meetings and providing estimates of their practices. Randall Cobb has been listed as a DNP both days while Stills is listed as limited.
The Houston Texans face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, and the short lead up to this Week 12 contest is likely going to result in some injury absences. Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills injured his quad on Sunday against the New England Patriots and receiver Randall Cobb injured his toe in the game.
Stills’ injury is not viewed as serious, but the short week could still prove problematic. Cobbs’ injury is serious and could result in placement on injured reserve, according to Aaron Wilson. The Texans are not expected to make the move before the Lions game so as to keep their options open on the short week, per Wilson.
Brandin Cooks and Will Fuller remain Deshaun Watson’s top two wide receivers, with tight end Jordan Akins seeing more targets this past week. Keke Coutee also was a bit more active, catching two of four targets for ten yards and a touchdown.
