The Cleveland Browns will be without edge rusher Myles Garrett for a second straight week after head coach Kevin Stefanski announced he would not play in Week 12. The Browns placed Garrett on the Covid-19 injured reserve list this past Friday before their Week 11 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Garrett tested positive for Covid-19, which has a longer absence requirement than if he was simply a high risk close contact. He is out a minimum of 10 days, which would go through the coming Sunday. If Garrett is asymptomatic and/or testing negative consistently, he would be able to return as early as Week 13.
This is not ideal, but the Browns face an awful Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line in Week 12. The Jaguars line ranks 30th in adjusted sack rate. Yesterday without Garrett, the Browns managed five sacks against the Eagles’ 29th ranked offensive line. The Browns need a healthy Garrett to get to the playoffs and make some noise, but they don’t need him against the Jaguars.
