Game status update: Thielen has been ruled OUT for Week 12 vs. the Panthers.
One of the NFL’s most productive receivers is in danger of missing Week 12. The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that Adam Theilen been placed on the Covid-19 list. There’s no word on whether the Thielen has tested positive or come into close contact with someone who has, but the details should be made clear soon. His status for Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers is up in the air.
If Thielen is Covid-19 positive he’ll be required to be isolate for 10 days. Close contact would mean a five day isolation period that would keep him eligible for Sunday’s game. There’s no telling how many pass catchers could be infected with Covid-19 at this point.
Thielen leads the NFL with 11 touchdown receptions and has caught four touchdown passes in each of his last two games. Rookie wideout Justin Jefferson is no slouch and ranks seventh in the NFL with 848 receiving yards. He could become even more of a focal point for Minnesota if his co-star can’t take the field.
