Tight end PPR rankings for Week 12 fantasy football

We take you through some of the best PPR tight ends going in Week 12 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

NFL Week 12 Tight End Rankings

Final injury report

Irv Smith looks unlikely to play, but the bigger concerns are Hayden Hurst and Jordan Reed. Hurst was upgraded to limited on Friday, which is a big plus. Reed was a DNP on Thursday and Friday due to a non-Covid illess.

Speaking of Covid-19, the Ravens-Steelers game was moved from Sunday to Tuesday after initially being scheduled for Thanksgiving. If you have Mark Andrews or Eric Ebron, consider alternatives.

Out: MyCole Pruitt (knee)
Doubtful: Irv Smith (groin, back)
Questionable: Hayden Hurst (ankle), Jordan Reed (illness), Tyler Higbee (elbow)

Thursday’s Ravens vs. Steelers Update

The Ravens had four more players and five staff members test positive according to Thursday evening reports. The game was moved from Thursday to Sunday, but is in danger of being postponed again. Lamar Jackson was one of the players who tested positive for Covid-19, which means Robert Griffin III would start if the game happens on Sunday. That is a downgrade for Mark Andrews. He’s still a must-start if the game happens, but it’s worth noting. If you have Eric Ebron as your tight end, have a contingency plan.

Wednesday injury report

Hayden Hurst and Tyler Higbee are the most notable additions to the injury report this week. Travis Kelce is of note, but a full practice suggests he is not dealing with anything too serious and should be fine for Sunday.

DNP: Darrell Daniels (ankle), Maxx Williams (illness), Hayden Hurst (ankle), Tyler Higbee (elbow)
Limited: Ryan Izzo (hamstring, hand), Irv Smith (groin, back), Marcedes Lewis (knee), Robert Tonyan (ankle), Tyler Eifert (concussion), James O’Shaughnessy (knee), Chris Herndon (back)
Full: Travis Kelce (pectoral), Luke Stocker (foot), Dawson Knox (hamstring), Josh Hill (concussion), Noah Fant (ribs), MyCole Pruitt (knee), Jonnu Smith (ankle)

Hey! Week 11 was a nice bounce back week for the often maligned (by me) tight end position. We did get Travis Kelce back from bye, which is always an upgrade and he did his usual, leading the way as TE1. Then, a whole bunch of names that actually were started in fantasy leagues filled out the Top 7. Darren Waller, Mark Andrews, Dallas Goedert, Robert Tonyan, Hunter Henry and Eric Ebron all found the end zone and some of them even put up more than 75 yards! It’s a pre-Thanksgiving miracle!

Injury news

No injuries of note.

Bye weeks

There are no teams on bye in Week 12.

Austin Hooper, Browns

Playing the Jacksonville Jaguars is a good opportunity to pad your stats and now that Hooper is back from his appendectomy he has a good shot of putting up useable numbers. Also, the Browns might finally play in a game without annoying weather for the first time in a month!.

Jordan Reed, 49ers

The 49ers could get back some offensive pieces this week, but I expect Reed to still be a major target for Nick Mullens. The Rams defense should be able to pressure Mullens and push him to throw underneath. The Rams also push teams to target their tight ends, as they’ve given up the most targets per game to the position and the sixth-most receptions.
