Friday update: The Dolphins have ruled out Salvon Ahmed for Week 12.

Thursday update: Ahmed was once again listed as a DNP on Thursday. This does not bode well for his status this Sunday against the Jets.

The Miami Dolphins had an unexpected addition to their injury report to open Week 12. Running back Salvon Ahmed was unable to practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.

The Dolphins backfield has dealt with an assortment of injuries and Ahmed has emerged as the starter in recent weeks. The team welcomed back Matt Breida in Week 11, but with Myles Gaskin still sidelined, Ahmed got the bulk of the work against the Denver Broncos. Ahmed rushed 12 times for 43 yards and had five receptions for 31 yards. Breida had two rushes for four yards and Patrick Laird had one eight-yard reception.

The Dolphins face the New York Jets in Week 12 and face a bigger question than who will start at running back. Tua Tagovailoa was benched in Week 11 for Ryan Fitzpatrick, but now Tagovailoa is on the injury report as well with a thumb injury that limited him on Wednesday. All of this should be on fantasy managers radars headed into the holiday weekend.
