Deshaun Watson will have a significant audience watching him on Thanksgiving day when the Houston Texans head on the road to take on the Detroit Lions. For fantasy owners of Watson, be thankful he is on your roster because he’s about to have another fantastic performance.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans QB Deshaun Watson
In his last time out, Watson and the Texans beat the New England Patriots 27-20, and he had a big day from a fantasy perspective. Watson completed 28 of 37 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns, and he did some damage on the ground, rushing the ball six times for 36 yards and a rushing score.
Houston could be without wide receivers Kenny Stills (quad) Randall Cobb (toe) on Thursday, but the Texans have enough weapons, and Watson is athletic enough that he should not have many issues moving forward.
Watson and the Texans are set to take on a Lions defense that is toward the bottom of passing defenses in 2020. Detroit is allowing 258.4 passing yards per game, which ranks 25th in the NFL. In their last game, the Lions came away with two interceptions but allowed Carolina Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker to throw for 258 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Watson is a must start for fantasy purposes in leagues of all sizes as a No. 1 quarterback every week moving forward regardless of matchups. He is a top-five option on Thanksgiving Day.
