Tale of the Tape for Anthony Smith vs. Devin Clark

In a light heavyweight battle on the main card of UFC Fight Night, Anthony Smith will fight Devin Clark Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.

The 32-year-old Smith walks into the octagon with a professional fighting record of 33-16 and a two-match losing streak. This is also his third bout in 2020, with the latest taking place in August. At UFC Fight Night 175, “Lionheart” Smith lost to Aleksandar Rakic by unanimous decision.

Before that fight Smith took on Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 171 in May of 2019, where the Omaha native went the distance but lost in Round 5 by TKO. “Lionheart” lands 2.97 strikes per minute, with 46 percent accuracy. He absorbs a significant amount of strikes per minute at 4.43, while his defense is at 42 percent. When it comes to grappling, Smith has a 0.41 takedown average per 15 minutes and 25 percent takedown accuracy.

As for Clark, he comes to the UFC APEX with a professional fighting record of 12-4 and a two-match winning streak. Just like his opponent, this is “Brown Bear” Clark’s third bout in 2020. The 32-year-old from South Dakota last fought in June at UFC 250. The 6-foot fighter defeated Alonzo Menifield by unanimous decision, and a majority of Clark’s victories over his career has come by decisions.

Clark is a multifaceted fighter, who can throw punches and wrestle on the mat. He lands 3.40 strikes per minute with an accuracy of 48 percent. The veteran fighter absorbs fewer strikes than Smith at 2.47 and defends them at 48 percent. Over his pro fighting career, he has an astounding 2.76 takedowns per 15, with an accuracy of 36 percent.
