What to do with Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown in Week 12 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown ahead of the Rams Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

Game day update: Every week it is hard to predict which Rams running back will have the most carries or score a touchdown. One week it could be Malcolm Brown, the next it could be Henderson, or last week Akers could score the only touchdown. With that type of inconsistency, it’s tough trusting any of these RBs in your starting lineup. This week, they are going up against a San Francisco defense that is only giving up an impressive 14.3 fantasy points to opposing running backs. ESPN projects Henderson to score 7.5 fantasy points, while Akers and Brown to score 5.2 and 5.6 points.

The Los Angeles Rams running back trio had trouble finding open space to run last week against the Bucs. Together, the three players combined for 40 yards on 16 carries. Cam Akers had the best fantasy day of the bunch thanks to a four-yard touchdown pass. They have a slightly better chance of success this week when they play the 49ers, but as usual with this group, the big question is which one will be the most useful in fantasy.

Fantasy Football analysis: Los Angeles Rams RBs Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown

Henderson is still the closest thing to a No. 1 in the group as the guy most likely to lead the team in carries each week. He led the group against the Bucs last week with eight rushing attempts. Akers has some upside because of his talent and the fact that the Rams spent a second-round pick on him this year. But because of the inconsistent results, he’s best left for someone else to try in their fantasy lineup. Brown has five touchdowns on the season, but that’s all he brings to the table, which makes him a real dicey play.

The 49ers don’t give up big yardage on the ground, but they have given up five touchdowns (three rushing and two receiving scores) to running backs in their last three games. I’d be most comfortable with Henderson as a RB3 this week, but temper your expectations.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Darrell Henderson at RB3. Sit Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown.
