The Wyoming Cowboys will be looking for their second on the season when they take on the winless UNLV Rebels Friday at 4:00 p.m. ET in Las Vegas.
The Cowboys (1-2) have not played in over a month as their last two games against Air Force and Utah State were canceled because of Covid-19. The last time we saw Wyoming play, they lost 34-24 to Colorado State on the road. Cowboys quarterback Levi Williams put up a plenty of passing yards (321), but also threw a pick-six and did not complete a single touchdown pass. The only offensive touchdowns scored by the Cowboys came on the ground. RB Xazavian Valladay had 147 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown, while Trey Smith and Williams each added a rushing touchdown.
The Cowboys’ running game should be able to pick up where they left off against UNLV’s defense, which is allowing 213.3 rushing yards per game this season.
As for UNLV, they were supposed to play last week against Colorado State, but were another Covid-19 scrub. The last time we saw UNLV play, they lost 34-17 to San Jose State where the Rebels’ defense gave up 176 rushing yards, 274 passing yards, and two touchdowns. This season, the Rebels are giving up 466.3 yards and 36.3 points per game.

The Best Bet
Despite the Cowboys not playing in over a month, they should not have any problems with the Rebels on Friday. This season the Rebels have struggled to score points, averaging a pedestrian 17.3 per game. If Wyoming can lean on their running game and stop the run as they are only giving up 95.3 yards per game, I like their chances to be the winning side.
Pick: Wyoming (-16.5)
