Game day update: Tua Tagovailoa was downgraded to doubtful due to a jammed thumb on his throwing hand. That means Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start on Sunday against an awful Jets team. Tagovailoa has more long-term upside, but for 2020, this is not a downgrade, and might even be an upgrade for Parker. Meanwhile, Grant is questionable with a hamstring injury, and we’ll await 11:30 a.m. inactives.
We got some clarity this week as to who the Miami Dolphins will be starting at quarterback. Rookie Tua Tagovailoa will be back under center despite getting banged up and benched in last week’s game. However, that means fantasy expectations for the team’s wide receivers take a little bit of a hit this week against the Jets.
Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins WRs DeVante Parker, Jakeem Grant
Parker is the clear favorite in Miami’s passing game, especially when it comes to fantasy football. He had six catches on nine targets last week, with 61 yards and a touchdown. The last time he saw the Jets, back in Week 6, he didn’t have much to show for it, catching just three passes on eight targets for 35 yards. Despite that, he’s still a decent pick for a WR2 spot in your lineup in this game.
Grant’s best game of the season, for fantasy, came two weeks ago when he had 43 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers. I’m afraid his ceiling is just too low in a conservative offense like this to take up a spot in your lineup.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start DeVante Parker. Sit Jakeem Grant.
