What to do with Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders in Week 12 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Michael Thomas ahead of the Saints Week 12 matchup against the Broncos.

Game day update: The Broncos are in a tough spot this week, as all of their quarterbacks are out due to COVID-19 protocols. Denver will be starting Kendall Hinton, just promoted from the practice squad, and so, the game script continues to look worse for the Saints receivers. Michael Thomas is a must start, but considering the potential for a low-scoring game given Denver’s situation at QB, it’s probably wise to avoid Emmanuel Sanders in this outing.

I think we can all say that we were pleasantly surprised by Taysom Hill’s start in place of Drew Brees last week. But maybe nobody was as hyped about it as wide receiver Michael Thomas. One week after a 27-yard output in a disappointing season, the New Orleans Saints superstar broke out for 104 yards last week. Sanders didn’t do too bad either, rolling up 66 yards in that game. So what about this week against the Broncos?

Fantasy Football analysis: Saints WRs Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders

Thomas was targeted 12 times last week, catching nine passes. He looked like his old, matchup-proof self. Plus, he’s a great chess piece for Hill at quarterback: a huge target with solid hands. Sanders only had five targets in that game, catching four of them, but it was much better than the single target he had the week before. He’s a decent WR3.

Denver’s given up six touchdowns to receivers in their last four games, which includes tilts against some very heavy run-first squads.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
