Game day update: Tampa Bay’s receiving corps should be at full strength. While Godwin appeared on the injury report this week because of his broken finger, he was a full participant in every practice this week. He’s led all Buccaneers wideouts in snaps for three straight weeks.
Nothing about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers passing offense makes sense right now. With Tom Brady noodle arming under center, it’s made for a confusing picture when it comes to the team’s otherwise talented group of wide receivers. So what about this week against the Chiefs? Will speedsters Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown have any fantasy value?
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs WRs Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown
Godwin and Brown led the team in receiving last week. Brown had a team-high 13 targets, catching eight of them for 57 yards. Godwin was targeted 10 times, and he caught seven for 53 yards and a touchdown. The weird part is that both players were being used on short throws, with the team trusting their speed to make something happen after the catch. We’re used to seeing those guys making highlight catches way down the field, but that’s not what the Bucs offense is now.
The Chiefs aren’t shutting down opposing receivers, so both of these players have fantasy value heading into this week. Both are getting a steady share of targets each week, making them decent WR2 options.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown.
