Game day update: The Eagles will NOT activate Zach Ertz for Week 12 Monday Night Football, per Mike Garafolo.
The Philadelphia Eagles face the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football to close out Week 12, and it would appear they will not have tight end Zach Ertz available. Ertz was designated for return from the injured reserve list, but head coach Doug Pederson said on Saturday he’ll likely need another week, per Jeff McLane.
Ertz has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in Week 6. The training staff thought he was trending in the right direction early in the week, but as the week has progressed, it would appear he has not quite done enough.
Dallas Goedert will remain the starting tight end for the time being, and Richard Rodgers will serve as the No. 2 tight end. None of the Eagles tight ends has been consistently productive this season, but they’ve shown enough upside to justify rolling the dice. Goedert is coming off a Week 11 performance that included five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers had only two catches in Week 11, but managed 48 yards and a score.
