Cincinnati Bengals tight end Drew Sample has not had a 2020 season to remember yet, but he’ll hope to get on track this week against the New York Giants.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cincinnati Bengals tight end Drew Sample
Sample has been one of the least productive starting tight ends in the NFL this season. He hasn’t scored a touchdown yet and has just 212 yards in 10 games. He’s caught just 22 passes on the season and hasn’t seen many more targets either.
While the Giants are a seemingly weak opponent, the team is actually a top-12 fantasy defense against tight ends. On average, the unit allows just over 10 fantasy points to opposing tight ends each week. Sample has just 21 fantasy points all season so far.
Add in the fact that the Bengals are starting its backup quarterback after QB1 Joe Burrow went down with an injury, and it’s not a great omen for fantasy owners.
