Good help is so hard to find at the tight end position that any player capable of finishing the week with at least 40 yards really isn’t a bad day for fantasy football. Evan Engram is one of several disappointing players dotting the New York Giants roster this season, but despite his failure to meet expectations, he’s one of those okay starters in fantasy thanks to a world of depressed expectations.
Fantasy Football analysis: Giants TE Evan Engram
Engram had his worst game in a while in the Giants’ last outing back in Week 10. He caught two passes on three targets for a grand total of 15 yards. His three targets in that one was a bit of an anomaly though. He had 19 targets in the three games before that, so it’s reasonable to expect him bouncing back this week.
He also scored his only touchdown of the season during that stretch, in Week 9 against Washington. That’s notable because while the Bengals haven’t given up a touchdown to a tight end in their last three games, they had a three-game stretch from Week 5-7 where they surrendered six. Engram is a decent starting tight end this week.
