After respective 2-0 starts, both the No. 17 Houston Cougars and the No. 14 Texas Tech Red Raiders will battle for Lone Star State supremacy when meeting on Sunday in Fort Worth.

The Georgetown transfer put up 18 points while Marcus Santos-Silva nearly ripped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Tech upped the pressure on the defensive end, forcing 18 turnovers and limiting SHSU to just 31.5 percent shooting.

Quentin Grimes had himself a day for Houston in their 68-58 victory over Boise State on Friday. The junior exploded for 25 points and eight rebounds in the win. Caleb Mills and Tramon Mark provided solid production off the bench, combining for 21 points. The Cougars stifled the Broncos’ effectiveness on the perimeter, holding Boise to just 1-of-16 shooting from three.
