The 10th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats will be welcoming the Richmond Spiders out of the Atlantic 10 conference to Rupp Arena for the Bluegrass Showcase Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET in Lexington, KY.

The John Calipari-led Wildcats (1-0) are coming off of an opening season 81-45 win over Morehead State. In that game, freshman standout guard Brandon Boston Jr. led all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and seven rebounds. Boston was one of four Wildcat players who scored in double figures. Kentucky dominated Morehead State on the glass, outrebounding the Eagles 37-25, and shot an impressive 55.9 percent from the field. At one point, the Wildcats held a 39-point lead over Morehead State.

As for the Spiders, they also faced Morehead State to open up their season in the Bluegrass Classic. Richmond defeated the Eagles 82-64, thanks to a career-high 23 points from senior forward Nathan Cayo. Cayo was a perfect 10-of-10 shooting from the field and one of four players to score in double figures on Friday. Just like the Wildcats did against the Eagles on Wednesday, Richmond took won the rebounding battle 35-29 and shot 55.6 percent from the field. Richmond will need a similar type of performance on Sunday if they want to pull an early-season upset over Kentucky.

The Best Bet

The 10th-ranked Wildcats should be able to handle their business against the Spiders on Sunday afternoon. The key for Kentucky is if they can win the battle on the boards and shoot the ball well from behind the arc. In their regular season opener against Morehead State, the Wildcats shot 37.5 percent from three-point range. If they do both of things and keep Nathan Cayo in check, they should cruise to a double-digit win.
