There are a few D/STs widely available that either have good matchups heading into Week 9, or had successful Week 8 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are three D/STs with under 50% rostership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 9.

Miami Dolphins (12 percent)

The Dolphins put on a show against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. They recovered a fumble for a score and ran back a punt for a touchdown en route to a 28-17 victory. The defense seems to have rallied around rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and could ride momentum from their third straight win in the coming weeks. Miami has given up a league-low 18.6 points per game.

Washington Football Team (17.5 percent)

Washington has had a few surprisingly good games this season and shouldn’t be underestimated with several divisional games coming up. The NFC East has struggled and four teams have bottom 10 scoring offenses. Washington’s talented defensive line can apply pressure and force turnovers. Matchups against the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys could be promising in the next four weeks.

New York Giants (14.0 percent)

The Giants can’t score very well, but have a top 10 defense in fantasy leagues. They’ve been solid against the run and bottled up the dynamic Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a good chunk of Week 8 Monday Night Football. New York’s solid run defense and the stellar play of James Bradberry are desirable strengths.
