Ahead of the 2020 NFL season, DraftKings Sportsbook set projected win totals for each NFL team. Some teams are well on their way to exceeding these win totals, outperforming the bar oddsmakers set for them prior to Week 1. Other teams need a bit more help to get there.
The Browns are a bit of an enigma. One week they’ll look so bad you can’t believe they’ve won a game and then other weeks they look like a playoff team. And their team follows the lead of their quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has a masterful five touchdown game on this season’s resume, but without that game, he’s have 10 touchdown passes to six interceptions in seven matchups.
At 5-3, the Browns record is right in the mix for the playoffs this season, especially with an extra wildcard team added this season. They’ve been crushed by the AFC North leaders, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, but have played well against lesser competition. Their best win so far came against the Colts in Week 5 and shows they have the players to beat inferior opponents while playing with their equals.
Myles Garrett has been a force, keeping the defense from completely tanking their efforts, but there is plenty needed on that side of the ball, as they’ve allowed the sixth-most points per game at 29.6.
Their chances to top their 7.5 over/under win total will likely be contingent on their schedule. With five wins already, they only need to take three of their last eight, and they face the the Jets and Jaguars! Overall, the Ravens and Steelers one more time are the only games they’ll be heavy underdogs.
