Why I like the Seahawks ATS on MNF vs. Eagles

The Seahawks are healthy at running back while the Eagles’ faith in Carson Wentz is wavering. We go over why Seattles’s odds to cover the spread against Philadelphia in Week 12 are favorable.

Monday Night Football Preview: Seahawks vs Eagles

The Seattle Seahawks will visit the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in a Week 12 Monday Night Football matchup at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN. Both teams need a win to stay in the hunt to win their respective divisions, but the host Eagles are at a major disadvantage.

The Seahawks are -195 on the moneyline and have arguably the best passing attack in football thanks to Russell Wilson, Tyler Lockett, and DK Metcalf. Seattle has lost two of its last three games but health issues at running back have contributed to its recent slide. The return of Chris Carson should give the Seahawks a significant boost on offense. I like their odds to cover the spread in this matchup.

ATS Pick: Seahawks

The Seahawks are 6.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. Many of their games have been shootouts because of their inability to defend against the pass but Philadelphia has been one of the least impressive offensive teams in the NFL as of late. The Eagles have scored 17 points in back-to-back weeks and are only averaging 22 points per game. Seattle has experienced a bit of a drop off in recent weeks but is averaging 31.8 points per game. Only the Green Bay Packers have scored more points per contest this season. The Eagles have been ravaged by injuries on offense and just lost right tackle Lane Johnson for the year. I’d be surprised if they can keep up with one of the top scoring offenses in the NFL.

Carson Wentz has been laboring and his struggles have rookie signal-caller Jalen Hurts earning a larger role in the offense. Hurts has been getting first-team reps in practice and is expected to relieve Wentz for spells on Monday. I’m not sure what we can expect from Hurts if he’s not used exclusively as a gadget player, but Philadelphia’s uncertainty in Wentz isn’t a good sign. I’m taking a consistently explosive offense over the Eagles any day.
