The Carolina Panthers head into their bye week and we will likely have to wait a week to find out what’s up with D.J. Moore. The wide receiver went down with a non-contact leg injury in the end zone in Week 12 and head coach Matt Rhule said on Sunday he believes it is an ankle injury but x-rays came back negative. Rhule would not rule him out for Week 14 against the Denver Broncos.
Moore jumped to catch what proved to be an incomplete pass. As he came down, he grabbed his right leg after landing awkwardly. He was taken off on a cart and did not return to the game.
The Panthers will likely have some meetings before getting some time off the rest of the week. Bye teams usually return for a practice the following Monday, but they do not need to release a formal practice participation report until Wednesday. We’ll likely hear from Rhule next Monday, at which point we might know more about Moore’s status.
