Final injury report
Out: Adam Humphries (concussion), Jamal Agnew (ribs), Kenny Golladay (hip)
Doubtful: Chris Moore (thigh), T.Y. Hilton (groin), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Dontrelle Inman (hamstring)
Questionable: Devin Duvernay (thigh), Marcus Johnson (knee), Sammy Watkins (hamstring), Tim Patrick (hamstring), Calvin Ridley (foot), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Chris Godwin (finger)
Thursday injury report
Michael Thomas was limited again, which was what happened last week. Friday’s final injury report should give us a good indication of his status. Emmanuel Sanders is back and says he’s playing this week. Chris Godwin won’t try to catch a pass until Friday, so we’re waiting on that for now. T.Y. Hilton didn’t practice again, marking him as likely out this week. Calvin Ridley missed practice again. He’ll need to practice Friday to have a chance to play against Denver. Tim Patrick was able to get another limited practice in. He’s trending in the right direction.
Wednesday injury report
The 49ers receiver room has been hurt by Covid-19 and Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Kendrick Bourne are all on the list and won’t play, though Samuel was already out due to a hamstring injury. Trent Taylor is the only healthy receiver on the active roster while Richie James is questionable.
Calvin Ridley didn’t practice today, but the team is excited about his prognosis. If he can’t go against Denver, Christian Blake would likely get the start in his place.
Chris Godwin has a cast on his hand and will need to prove he can catch the ball on Friday before getting the green light
Michael Thomas is making progress with a limited practice on Wednesday, but his status still remains up in the air for the Saints matchup with the Buccaneers.
Allen Lazard made the trip to San Francisco and could end up being activated.
Sammy Watkins returned to practice and looks to be on track to return this week against the Panthers. Demarcus Robinson takes the biggest hit.
Kenny Golladay is out this week. Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson should see a good bump in work.
Tim Patrick was limited with his hamstring injury, but returning to practice is a great sign for his return against the Falcons.
Adam Humphries will need to pass concussion protocol before he can play this week. If he can’t, Jonnu Smith likely sees the biggest increase in work.
DNP: T.Y. Hilton (groin), Anthony Miller (toe), Adam Humphries (concussion), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Calvin Ridley (foot), Kenny Golladay (hip), Randall Cobb (illness), John Brown (knee)
Limited: Tim Patrick (hamstring), Russell Gage (shoulder, knee), Marquez Callaway (ankle), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Chris Godwin (finger), Scott Miller (hip, groin), Sterling Shepard (shoulder, toe)
Full: Chris Moore (thigh), Adam Thielen (shoulder),
Week 7 had a monster game from Tyler Lockett and then Week 8 had another Seahawks receiver go off, as DK Metcalf dominated. It’s been quite the fantasy display in Seattle this season and there is no sign of slowing down.
Even in a windy game, Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers hooked up for three touchdowns. That connection is pretty much unstoppable at this point. I’m looking forward to the Thursday night game.
Corey Davis continues to play well and this week he had a big game despite A.J. Brown playing a full set of snaps. Of course, trailing in the game did help him see more targets than we expected against the Bengals, but it looks like Davis is finally getting consistent enough to feel good about.
Injury news
Deebo Samuel will be out Thursday night, which should again give Brandon Aiyuk the lead receiver duties.
Antonio Brown will return to the field this week. His usage is up in the air, but he should quickly be a part of the offense.
Kenny Golladay will miss this week against the Vikings. Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson should see a nice bump in work.
Allen Lazard is getting closer to a return, but a Thursday night game will make it a little tougher this week.
Jamison Crowder had a setback last week, so his status this week is in doubt against the Patriots.
Tim Patrick was a game-time decision last week, so he should have a better chance of playing this week against the Falcons, which is a high-upside matchup.
Week 9 byes: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles
Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green. Tee Higgins, Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Travis Fulgham, and Jalen Reagor will all be napping in their hammocks this weekend, which means we’ll need to dig a little deeper at wide receiver.
Streaming options
Tim Patrick, Broncos
Patrick should be able to go this week and he’ll get a nice matchup with the Falcons. Patrick has looked great this season when healthy, and has been Drew Lock’s favorite deep target. His upside is going to be sky high in this matchup if he’s good to go.
Marvin Jones, Lions
Jones hasn’t been doing much this season, even with Kenny Golladay hurting, but last week he found the end zone twice. The Vikings pass defense is hurting and already weak, so this matchup is about as good as it gets.
