McVay: Darrell Henderson ‘is good’ heading into bye week

All three Rams running backs should be ready to go after the bye when they play the Seahawks in Week 10.

Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson said on Wednesday that Darrell Henderson “is good. His quad was bothering him. If we were to practice this week, it would probably be later on in the week until he’s ready to go, (but) don’t expect it to linger into Seattle,” per Stu Jackson.

Henderson’s quad injury forced him from Week 8, but it appears he shouldn’t have much trouble returning after the bye. His injury did open up more work for rookie Cam Akers, who rushed nine times for 35 yards and caught 1-of2 passes for 11 yards while Malcolm Brown ran the ball 10 times for 40 yards and caught both his targets for 17 yards.

Henderson should remain the lead back, but the amount of competition for touches will keep him from being a fantasy star, as he’ll continue to split work with Brown and Akers is a player the team would like to keep getting work as well.
