Thursday update: Devonta Freeman returned to a limited practice on Thursday, per Jordan Raanan. This gives him a good hot of playing against the Washington Football Team this week. Wayne Gallman would see the biggest loss in fantasy value if that happens.
New York Giants running back Devonta Freeman did not practice on Wednesday as he still fighting through an ankle injury, per Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com . His status for New York’s Week 9 contest against the Washington Football Team is up in the air. Freeman did not play on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 28-year-old running back initially suffered the injury back in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Without Freeman, the Giants have been using the running back trio of Wayne Gallman Jr., Dion Lewis, and Alfred Morris— the latter of whom was recently promoted from the practice squad. Against the Buccaneers on Monday night, Gallman had 44 rushing yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. He also had a reception for 18 yards. Lewis did not have a single carry, but had two receptions for eight yards and a touchdown. Lastly, Morris had eight carries for 28 yards.
