NCAA Football: Hawaii at Wyoming Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

The Wyoming Cowboys and Colorado State Rams will close out a two-game college football slate on Thursday night in a Mountain West Conference matchup.

Wyoming enters this game with a 1-1 record, coming off a 31-7 victory over Hawaii last Friday night. The Cowboys did a lot of their damage on the ground, finishing with 59 rushing attempts to just 18 passes. Xazavian Valladay carried the ball 32 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while Trey Smith had 20 carries for 89 yards and a pair of scores. Levi Williams completed 9 of 18 passes for 112 yards for Wyoming.

On the other side, Colorado State had its season opener against New Mexico canceled and lost 38-17 to Fresno State on the road last Thursday. The Rams held a lead early in the second quarter before Fresno State took control. Colorado State utilized a two-quarterback system, and Todd Centeio completed 10 of 23 passes for 141 yards, while Patrick O’Brien finished 7 of 10 for 82 yards with a touchdown. Centeio is more effective with his legs as he ran for 80 yards on 13 carries and lost a fumble.Trey McBride caught eight passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Wyoming won the last four games of this series, including a 17-7 home win in 2019.

The Best Bet

As we see from the splits, Wyoming cannot find a way to win on the road, and Colorado State struggles mightily to win at home. With that being said, we’re going to look at the point total on this one. There appear to be some question marks at the quarterback position for Colorado State as the two-quarterback system figures itself out and with the amount of times Wyoming ran the ball in its first two games, look for that continue as we take the under.
