The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers will kick off Week 9 on Thursday at Levi’s Stadium at 8:20 p.m. ET. DraftKings will have a Showdown contest available for the matchup and we’ve identified a couple value plays worth considering. It’ll be hard to find cheap options, but these players are all $5,000 or less and could be impact players in Thursday’s game.
Ross Dwelley, TE, 49ers ($4,800)
Dwelley scored a touchdown in Week 8 after George Kittle broke his foot and will be the starter if Jordan Reed can’t play on Thursday. He matched a season-high four targets in his last outing after being summoned from the bench and could easily surpass that mark with a full game as a starter under his belt.
Kyle Juszczyk, RB, 49ers ($1,000)
Juszczyk is the only fullback in the NFL who is guaranteed to get fantasy points every week. He’s averaging two touches per game and has two touchdowns this season. He gets carries, is used as a receiver out of the backfield, and could benefit from being part of a backfield that has gotten even more limited now that Tevin Coleman is injured again. He’s one of the best cheap punt plays you can make.
Tyler Ervin, RB, Packers ($200)
Ervin averages just as many touches per game as Juszczyk per game and could see his value shoot up in this matchup. Aaron Jones is working toward returning from a calf injury while A.J. Dillon and Jamaal Williams have been ruled out because of Covid-19. If Ervin’s the only running back available for Green Bay he’ll easily return a ton of value at this price point. Even if Jones returns, the calf injury should mean work for Ervin.
