The Green Bay Packers will take on the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday to kick off Week 9. The visitors sit atop the NFC North while the host is last in the NFC West, but both teams could use a lift after suffering losses in Week 8.
The Packers have lost two of their last three games and have had to depend on Davante Adams to carry the receiving corps while other wideouts have been indisposed. Allen Lazard will return from the IR for this matchup to boost the offense. Aaron Jones’s status is up in the air because of a calf injury while Jamaal Williams and A.J. Dillon have been placed on the COVID-19 list. Green Bay could need significant contributions from Dexter Williams and Tyler Ervin out of the backfield.
San Francisco has very little to offer on offense with Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, Raheem Mostert, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk out of commission for this matchup. Nick Mullens will lead a ragtag group of 49ers against one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. The outlook isn’t good for the home team.
Both teams are short on key players in this matchup but the Packers have significantly higher fantasy upside . Here are some ESPN PPR points projections to give you an idea of what you can expect from key players on each side.
