BYU comes into this game with a much more impressive resume than Boise due to the late start of the Mountain West Conference. Quarterback Zach Wilson has been a dark horse Heisman choice for some as he’s put up insane numbers. He has 2152 yards passing, 19 touchdowns and two interceptions in 2020, and commands an offense that scores close to 50 points per game on average with over 500 yards per game. His favorite target this season has been Dax Milne, who has over 700 yards of his own with six scores. The Cougar defense allows just 13.4 points per game as well, but against pretty weak competition for the most part.
Boise State has looked very good offensively early, averaging 45 points per game through a balanced offense that can lean a little heavier on the run than the pass. Broncos running back George Holani has just 16 carries, but already has 105 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier was out last week in the team’s win over Air Force, but no reason given for why he was unavailable. It’s still unclear if he’ll play on Friday. In his absence, USC transfer Jack Sears performed pretty well, throwing for 291 yards and three scores last week.

The Best Bet
BYU has been rolling over teams with relative ease so far in 2020, but the Broncos will provide a tough test. Still that Cougar offense is very good, and there’s no telling if Boise State will have their QB1.
Pick: BYU -4
