In a welterweight bout on the undercard of UFC Vegas 13, Gustavo Lopez will fight Anthony Birchak Saturday in Las Vegas, and available on ESPN+.
The 31-year-old Lopez has a professional record of 11-5. This is his second UFC fight this year and in his career. In his first bout, he lost to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC on ESPN 10 in June by unanimous decision. Lopez’s last win happened in 2019 against Joey Ruquet at Combate Americas 42, a Round 1 KO in 1:45. Since this is only his second-ever UFC, Lopez’s fighting stats do not hold much weight. However in his other professional fighting matches, he does have five TKO/KOs amongst his 11 victories.
As for Birchak, he is coming into the UFC APEX with a pro record of 16-6. The 34-year-old from Tucson, AZ, will be making his four-year return to the UFC. In his last UFC bout back in Jul. 2016, “El Toro” won a split decision over Dileno Lopez at UFC Fight Night 90. However he wasn’t re-signed by the UFC, despite winning and was subsequently released in February 2017.
Since being away from the UFC, the Arizona native had three matches at RIZIN, where he lost two by split decision and the other by unanimous decision. After that, Birchak fought a couple of matches at Combate Americas and LFA 72 in between.
