Game day update: The Chargers listed Phillip Lindsay as questionable on Saturday’s final injury report, but he is expected to play per Adam Schefter.
Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay is expected to play and should play a role in Sunday’s game along with Melvin Gordon in the backfield. What should fantasy owners do if they own either or both of these players? Let’s take a look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos RBs Melvin Gordon, Phillip Lindsay
Lindsay has injured toes and is listed as questionable, though he is expected to play on Sunday. In a 31-30 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Lindsay carried the ball six times for 83 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a pass for three yards. Gordon saw eight rushing attempts and went for just 26 yards. In the passing game, he caught six of seven targets for 21 yards.
Denver will match up against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon on the road. In their most recent outing, the Falcons allowed 6.7 yards per carry against the Carolina Panthers. Mike Davis carried the ball 13 times for 66 yards to lead Carolina.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Gordon can be used as a low-end No. 2 running back, while Lindsay is likely at the end of the list of No. 3 running backs for fantasy purposes in Week 9. Both backs are startable against the Falcons.
