Game day update: Allen tested negative for Covid-19 on Saturday and Sunday after dealing with a sore throat. He’s eligible to play in Week 9, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Allen has a clear path to at least 10 targets if he goes the distance against the Raiders and remains a quality fantasy option.
Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert has been a breath of fresh air for long-suffering Chargers fans. Beyond that, he’s been a big boost to the fantasy football prospects for the team’s capable group of wide receivers, who have the chance for a big outing against the Las Vegas Raiders this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers WRs Keenan Allen, Mike Williams
Allen leads the group, a must-start No. 1 receiver in any week for fantasy football purposes. Last week against the Broncos, Allen had 67 yards and a touchdown, and he was also targeted 12 times, catching nine balls. That’s a pretty typical number of targets for Allen since Herbert has taken over.
Williams had a great game against Denver too, catching five passes on eight targets for 99 yards and a touchdown. He’s now been targeted 19 times in his last three games. He can boom or bust in fantasy pretty easily, but the Raiders are giving up big points to receivers of all types, and Justin Herbert just can’t seem to miss right now.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
