How and what to watch for Tennessee vs. Arkansas

A pair of SEC cross-division foes will try to claw back to .500 when battling in Fayetteville on Saturday.

NCAA Football: Mississippi at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The SEC will feature two teams trying to claw their way back to .500 this week when the Tennessee Volunteers head to Fayetteville to meet the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Arkansas has been the surprise team of the league this year but came back down to earth a bit with a 42-31 loss at Texas A&M last week. A solid offensive day from quarterback Feleipe Franks, running back Rakeem Boyd and receiver Treylon Burks wasn’t enough to overcome the balanced attack of the Kellen Mond led Aggie offense.

Tennessee has had a week off to reassess things after a brutal three-week stretch that saw them collapse in the second-half against Georgia, get embarrassed by Kentucky and suffer their usual blowout loss to Alabama. The Vols’ offense failed to net above 4.9 yards per play in those three losses.

The Best Bet

This game is practically a tossup with the spread. Tennessee has struggled to move the ball through the air, cracking 200 passing yards only twice this year and has just one passing touchdown in their last three games.

While there is a chance for the Vols to get right against an inconsistent Razorback defense, the under is still the safe play with both teams trying to establish the run and control the lines.

Pick: Under 52.5
