Will the Kansas City Chiefs finally have wide receiver Sammy Watkins back in action when they host the Carolina Panthers this week? It looked like they might, but on Saturday afternoon he was ruled out. He’s been out of action since Week 5 with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy impact: Sammy Watkins (hamstring)

Watkins was able to practice this week, getting in limited work at all three sessions, which bodes well for his availability on Sunday. He suffered the injury in the first half of a Week 5 game against the Raiders, after catching two passes for 24 yards and a touchdown.

Watkins’ return will mean less work for Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson, downgrading their fantasy status to a significant degree. But that’s probably not happening until Week 10. Hardman is a decent replacement for Watkins in fantasy. He had 96 yards and a touchdown last week, catching the ball seven times on nine targets.
