Detroit Lions tight end TJ Hockenson has been a reliable player at a position that hasn’t seen all that spectacular of a season from a fantasy football perspective. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from Hockenson as we get ready for his Week 9 matchup.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions TE TJ Hockenson
The Lions were defeated 41-21 against the Indianapolis Colts at home, but Hockenson was fairly productive and saw a lot of action his way. On his team-leading 10 targets, he caught seven passes, which also led the Lions, for 65 yards.
Hockenson was limited in practice earlier this week with a toe injury, but he is expected to be ready to go on Sunday without any issues.
An important item to note looking ahead to Sunday is Matthew Stafford being on the COVID-19 list. He will be eligible to play on Sunday if he does not test positive for the coronavirus before game time. If he sits out, Hockenson should still see plenty of targets come in his direction.
Detroit will play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. They allowed eight catches for 125 yards to Green Bay Packers tight ends Rob Tonyan and Jace Sternberger last week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Hockenson is a No. 1 tight end no matter who is lining up at quarterback for the Lions on Sunday.
