These are desperate times for anyone looking for fantasy football help from the tight end position. If you were perhaps wondering whether or not Tyler Eifert or James O’Shaughnessy of the Jacksonville Jaguars could help your lineup, you may want to look elsewhere this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: Jaguars TEs Tyler Eifert, James O’Shaughnessy

Everything about the Jaguars offense is in a state of flux right now as the team will start rookie sixth-round pick Jake Luton at quarterback, and this week will be his first NFL game. We have no idea what the game plan will look like, which makes it incredibly difficult for fantasy purposes.

Before this week, when Gardner Minshew was under center, Eifert and O’Shaughnessy weren’t doing much. Eifert was out in Week 7, the Jags’ last game before their bye, and O’Shaughnessy caught three passes for 32 yards, his second-best game of the season. Eifert has yet to have more than 36 yards in a game, and he’s the only one of the two who’s scored this season.

They may find themselves playing a bigger role in a more conservative game plan designed around the rookie QB, but it’s just too soon to know. For now, you have to look at past usage patterns and leave them out of your lineups.
