James Conner got off to a rough start this season but appears to be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ dependable bell cow out of the backfield now. The running back is among the league leaders in rushing yards and has supplemented his team’s dangerous passing attack. The Dallas Cowboys are on the docket for Week 9 and Conner could be set up to have a monster game.

Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers RB James Conner

Conner ranks 10th in rushing yards with 498 and five scores on 110 carries. He has the least carries among top 10 running backs and will be up against a Cowboys defense that’s giving up a league-high 170.1 rushing yards per game. Conner’s involvement in the passing game is growing and he’s already hauled in 18 passes for 125 yards on the year. Dallas isn’t expected to be competitive in this game so there’s a good chance Pittsburgh will run some clock by pounding the ground late in a blowout victory. If this happens Conner could reach 20 carries for the third time this season.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

You have to start a top 10 rusher against a run defense this bad. Conner is a start.
