Sometimes you look at the New York Jets, from a fantasy perspective, and think that maybe at least one of their running backs could be of value. After all, someone’s got to run the ball. But you would be wrong. The Jets are now using a confusing committee of Frank Gore and La’Mical Perine, making sure neither player gets enough work to be productive.

Despite public assurances to get Perine more involved in the offense, it was still Gore leading the way last week in a hopeless outing against the Chiefs. The 37-year-old had 10 carries for 30 yards, compared to eight attempts for 27 for Perine. This week they’ll face the Patriots, and barring some unlikely shift toward sensible decision making from head coach Adam Gase, both running backs will get just enough work to limit their effectiveness.
