The New York Giants backfield committee is a mess. They’re one of those teams that uses no fewer than three running backs in any given week, and with a stagnant offense, there’s usually not enough work to make anyone worthwhile in fantasy football. So what about this week’s game against Washington?
Fantasy Football analysis: Giants RBs Devonta Freeman, Wayne Gallman, and Dion Lewis
Both Gallman and Lewis managed to score last week against the Buccaneers. Gallman led the backfield bunch with a season-high 12 carries for just 44 yards. This was his second game in a row with a rushing score. Lewis didn’t carry the ball at all, but he caught two passes on three targets, including a seven-yard touchdown. Freeman missed this game with an ankle injury, but he was back at practice on Thursday. It’s still unclear whether or not he’ll play.
Washington happens to be pretty good at limiting opposing running backs. Freeman did have 61 yards against them back in Week 6. If he can’t go, Gallman would likely be the best bet for fantasy purposes from this group, just set your expectations pretty low.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Wayne Gallman. Sit Devonta Freeman and Dion Lewis.
