Game status: Dez Bryant is ACTIVE for Week 9.
The Baltimore Ravens promoted wide receiver Dez Bryant practice from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday, according to Daniel Oyefusi of the Baltimore Sun. The 32-year-old was just signed to the Ravens’ taxi squad after not playing the last two seasons.
Bryant could end up playing on Sunday when the Ravens take on the Indianapolis Colts. Rookie wide receiver Devin Duvernay was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report with a thigh injury.
Fantasy Football analysis: Dez Bryant
The last time we saw Bryant play football it was in 2017 with the Dallas Cowboys. In that particular season, the then 29-year-old wide receiver had 69 receptions (132 targets) for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
However, the three-time Pro Bowl is now 32 years old and we do not know exactly what he will do when he finally gets back on the football. But we do know what Bryant brings to the table and that is a wide receiver who can be another security blanket for star quarterback Lamar Jackson.
If Duvernay somehow doesn’t play, it will give the Ravens’ only five healthy wide receivers on the active roster. This means Bryant play a little-bit here and there. He will not be a top three or four receiving option as Jackson still has Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown, Nick Boyle, and J.K. Dobbins at his disposal.
