Monday PM update: Matt Rhule confirmed McCaffrey injured his shoulder on the team’s last drive and described him as day-to-day, per Joe Person.
Monday AM update: McCaffrey is getting his shoulder checked out on Monday, but Ian Rapoport is reporting his status for Week 10 “is very much in doubt.”
Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey didn’t disappoint when he returned from a six-game injury hiatus, but could enter Week 10 banged up. McCaffrey appeared to suffer an injury in the shoulder area during the final drive of the game when he was tackled after moving the chains with a crucial first down reception.
This appears to be the play Christian McCaffrey was injured. Looks like his right shoulder/collarbone area. He came back in for one play, then left again on the final drive. pic.twitter.com/z7W4p0SUnL

While McCaffrey appeared to be shaken up on the sideline after sustaining the injury, coach Matt Rhule didn’t offer any updates on the stars health after the game. If McCaffrey’s discomfort is significant the details of his status could be addressed on Monday.
McCaffrey rushed for 69 yards and a score on 18 carries and also caught all 10 if his targets for 82 yards and a score in Carolina’s 33-31 loss. The most dangerous weapon the Panthers have to offer could be limited ahead of his team’s Week 10 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike Davis, who tallied one carry and caught five passes for 34 yards on Sunday, will move back into a starting role should the franchise centerpiece misses more time.
