Wednesday update: The Miami Dolphins will place Preston Williaoms on injured reserve with his foot injury, per ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe. The injury ended up being worse than the team initially thought. Jakeem Grant should see the biggest uptick in work.
Miami Dolphins receiver Preston Williams is considered “day-to-day” with a foot injury, per ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe. Williams was forced from the Dolphins’ Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals with the injury. Wolfe goes on to say that Williams appears to have avoided a serious injury, but his outlook for Week 10 against the Chargers is unclear.
Williams suffered the injury on his touchdown reception, which put his day at 4-of-5 receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. With Tua Tagovailoa taking a big step forward last week, Williams has some real upside when he gets back to the field, as Devante Parker continues to have nagging injuries.
Williams has shown flashes of top-level play in his young career, but injuries have slowed him down. Hopefully he can return soon and give Tagovailoa a strong receiver across from Parker. The Dolphins are quickly becoming a team to reckon with, and Williams is very much a part of that.
