Friday update: Drake was able to get in a limited practice on Thursday and Friday and is listed as questionable, per Art Stapleton. Coach Kliff Kingsbury does expect Drake to play against the Giants.
Arizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake was limited at practice on Thursday with a hip issue, according to Kyle Odegard of AZCardinals.com. Odegard mentions that Drake wasn’t on the injury on Wednesday and the team won’t know the severity until Friday.
The Cardinals need to hope that Drake’s injury isn’t serious as they need him for this final playoff push over the last four games. Drake missed a few games earlier this season with an ankle injury.
Since returning from the injury in Week 10, Drake has carried a considerable workload for the Cardinals’ offense. In the last four games, he has accumulated 59 carries for 256 yards and four touchdowns. Last week against the Los Angeles Rams, the former Alabama running back had 10 carries for 49 yards, along with two receptions for nine yards.
With all that being said, if Drake is limited or surprisingly cannot play on Sunday, expect backup running back Chase Edmonds to see an increase in snaps and carries.
