There were plenty of passes to go around in the Rams offense in their Week 13 matchup with Arizona, and both Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee were able to outpace their season averages for targets. The Cardinals defense isn’t particularly friendly to tight ends, but that didn’t stop Tyler Higbee from scoring the lone receiving touchdown for the Rams and Gerald Everett from reaching double digit points for just the third time this season. Should their Week 13 performances make you consider inserting either of these tight ends into your starting lineup? We break down the fantasy analysis below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Rams TE Gerald Everett, Tyler Higbee
Gerald Everett is averaging only 6.5 points per game this year, but that still qualifies him as a TE2 in a season where the tight end position is rather unpredictable. Unfortunately for Everett, it is unlikely he outplays his season average this week, as he takes on a Patriots defense that has allowed the fifth fewest points to the tight end position. Everett has shown flashes of starter capability, but he has not been able to string together enough TE1 performances to be considered for your lineup, particularly in a tough matchup. Sit Gerald Everett in Week 14.
Tyler Higbee found the end zone for the fourth time this season on one of his four receptions in Week 13. He finished the game with 12.4 PPR points, his second highest point total of the season. The touchdown may be promising, but it was merely a flash in the pan. Higbee is a touchdown dependent tight end, whose value is stifled by the presence of Gerald Everett. He does not possess a large enough role in this offense to be worth consideration for your starting lineup in Week 14. Keep Higbee on the bench.
